Maso.....I was looking at some of the history of the 55 from back on July 4, 2009 and found the above quote about the 409 engine being in three cars. That is true as far as three cars I put together but my brother also put the same engine in his 62 Chevy convertible.
When he went into the Army I got the engine back and put it into the A/MSP sports car.
Didn't remember till today just how much that engine got around.
1. The 55 gasser as a B/G
2. The 37 Ford coupe as an A/G and B/A
3. My brothers A/S convertible
4. And finally into the fiberglass sports car as an A/MSP

Pete....Our 37 was bought by Bill MacWilliams, but don't know where he bought it from. Our partnership in that cars was; he supplied the chassis and I supplied the engine, trans and tires. We raced it in one year only. When we broke up the car, he sold it to a body shop in Stratford and they built it into a show car. I took the engine and trans and put it into the A/MSP fiberglass car.
Which photo in the gallery is the one you are referring to or who's collection is it in. I have learned more about that car on this site than I knew when we were racing it.

TOM,terry o'shea gallery #14 near end. i saw that car at DOVER in later years running, don't remember much more. the 37 my friend did buy sat on walnut tree hill rd. in shelton, in a driveway for 15 years, went by it frequently, people tried to buy it , they didn't answer the door, or respond to letters left in mailbox. one day going by,people moving in. NO 37. when we went to look at johnny's 37 it was owned by a body man who worked for him at one time no motor, set up for BBC. THAT'S THIS CHAPTER.

This is the picture from the O'shea collection.
Is this our old car?? The dates seem to check out and it does look like our old 37 but who knows?
It is possible, will check with Bill when he gets back from CT.

The two best pictures I have of the old 55. The driver side as it was sitting for sale in Shelton 1965. The Passenger side was the picture Brian found at the last reunion and sent to me.
We are hoping the new car will look something like the old one but with later technology underneath.

Dino.....Short story about both sides not matching.
The side with "Tires by Sheehan" and the side with "Suspension done at Auto Clinic"
My brother-in-law, Dan Thorne, worked for the Sheehan Tire Company in Bridgeport CT. Sheehan owned both companies, Sheehan Tire Company and the Auto Safety Clinic. The Sheehan Tire Company started to make the drag racing slicks and Dan Thorne was able to have them sponsor the E/G'er for all the tires. The Auto Safety Clinic Manager, ED was the the person that got us started on building the A/MSP. He supplied the body & a place to work and I supplied the running gear.
